Finding support in connection

I'm interested in you: your experience, your world and the ways they might have made you feel stuck or feel like something's not right. I believe that the world can separate us from our deepest form of support, which lies in our relationships to ourself and others. I want to accompany you on a journey to recovering that support, by reconnecting with your self and your world.

About me

I'm a caring person with a background in academia, creative practice and the NHS, and I am a professionally qualified Psychotherapeutic Counsellor. My passion for therapy came from my curiosity about other people, personal experiences of change and supporting loved ones through difficult times.

My style of therapy

Collaborative

I believe that we get stuck in life because of situations in which we are not met or responded to appropriately. I want to help create an atmosphere in which you feel responded to, and I will create that in collaboration with you.

Here and now

I believe that, in life, we do not get many opportunities to explore what's happening for us in our experience, right now. In therapy, I will support you to go deeper into your present experience. I hope that together we can expand the feeling of choicefulness you have in your life.

Contextual

I believe that difficult situations we go through lead us into suffering, pain and stuckness. I seek to illuminate the situations in your life, past, present and future. I hope that by shedding light on the contexts that have shaped you, you will experience new possibilities of shaping the future.

My background

I have worked with a wide variety of experiences and suffering, including feeling stuck, isolated, worthless, depressed and anxious. I welcome and have experience working with a diverse range of identities and characteristics, including minoritised identities, gender identities and neurodiversity.

I am a professionally qualified Psychotherpeutic Counsellor (Diploma in Gestalt Psychotherapeutic Counselling, from Metanoia Institute Faculty of Psychotherapy and Counselling). I also hold a PhD in philosophy from Pennsylvania State University.
